The past two weeks have been pure insanity around here. We are so so busy, and my poor sister-in-law, I feel like I'm taking advantage of her! I haven't cooked a single meal in a week and a half, PLUS she's been keeping the place tidy. She rotates all the fruits and vegetables so nothing goes bad. She loads and unloads almost every dishwasher cycle. She's been taking care of the baby while I leave the house every afternoon to get some work done. She even waters plants. (Plants that, if I'm being honest, wouldn't even get watered if things were calm around here. I've been known to kill a lot of plants.)
This Saturday - a day that should be a break, a welcome respite from the week - she'll be all alone with the baby all day long. Her husband has a conference to attend, my Mian is attending a local woodworking class, and I'll be stuck in a library all day long. And the thing is, she just keeps telling us that it's no problem, she's happy to help!
I'm planning to do something nice for her after things let up next week. Any ideas? I thought perhaps an excursion somewhere close by. Maybe a night at a hotel in Annapolis? Maybe a dinner cruise? I think something nice for both her and Chachoo, since she probably wishes she got to see more of him anyway. Do any of you have ideas for a nice, not breaking-the-bank kind of thing I could do or get or provide for them to thank them for all their help? Help me think of something, please!
Then I promise I'll come back and finish telling you about that trip to Pakistan we took....ohhhh, let's see.......about six months ago? Boy, time sure does fly!
Tell me your suggestions - what nice thing can I do for my sister-in-law?
