Remember when we did that one thing to the baby at the end of May? Well, things have been filling out quite nicely. I'd forgotten that I was supposed to be updating you on the so-called Project Grow Faster Darnit 2010 until just yesterday, but here are some belated updates:
Day 22 - on a tour of a local fire station.
Man it's tough to find pictures where you can see his hairline! Here you can see that it's still quite short - you can see scalp still showing through the stubble.
Day 32 - dinner at some friend's house, the baby's wearing a Junaid Jamshed kurta that was a gift from Chachoo's wife.
Here is about the last week that we were still getting odd looks from people in grocery store. I was surprised that it took so long to grow out, I figured that by the end of two week's time, he'd just look like perhaps his father was in the military and preferred the Baby Buzz Cut style. It was a full month before we were in baby buzz cut territory. (I think if I'd known that before I would have had second thoughts!)
Even that picture was some time ago. As of today it's been 79 days since The Shearing. Unfortunately, I've mislaid my camera so I haven't been able to get a picture to show you all, but by this time I actually think the baby need ANOTHER haircut. I was positive I'd never want to cut his hair again! Right now it looks like bug puffball or Q-tip, though, sticking out all over in all directions. I think the top part is long enough now that it would just look like a normal haircut - if he just got cleaned up on the back & sides. The Q-tip look, though, is not flattering. He looks all disproportionate, with short short hair on top, but it's still creeping down over his ears. Hopefully I'll track down my camera soon and you can see it.
Next week I'm taking him for a haircut, but you can bet I'm going to be VERY specific - don't touch the top!!!
