In THIS half-desi house, however, the parents are often caught talking about things like, not IF, but how many Ph.D.'s our son will get and whether or not we will live with our eldest son when we are older. (Note to my son's future spouse: I am trying to explain things, but I don't know if I'll be able to do any good. Please be kind to your father in law if I can't talk some sense into him in the next 30 years.)
So have you all planned out anything for your kids?

I have only planned as far as life insurance and when I am purchasing a high chair. All the other stuff...Eventually.
My kid is going to be a doctor, probably specializing in the heart and his younger sister will also be a doctor but I haven't decided what type yet. Dentistry may also be an option.
Note: I've not got any kids yet
Education is important, that's the only expectation I have. As long as the chosen profession is legal, ethical and allows self sustenance, I'm going to support my child. I feel really bad for children whose parents have mapped out their lives... you know, having BEEN one of those children. ;)
I agree with Faiqa, and am right now trying to convince my husband that being a doctor is not the only option for our soon to be born daughter. . . .my husband hates hospitals, blood and everything medical, BTW. . .where doctor became the only option, I will never know.
when i was with my ex... we used to talk a lot about kids... kids we were yet to have... lol !!!
and never did :(
